Prague Castle Tour & Canal River Cruise Overview

Join us on a leisurely afternoon excursion to some of the most historic sites in Prague, including a 45-minute river and canal cruise and a tour of the Prague Castle complex. The focus of the tour is mostly on the left bank of the river and is a great introduction for those who have not ventured there yet.

The tour begins in Old Town Square, a UNESCO-listed world heritage site and one of the most beautiful city squares in the world, then continues with a stroll through the Clementinum complex – formerly a Jesuit college and Prague’s second largest building complex after Prague Castle – and home to Baroque churches, the Mirror Chapel, and an important branch of the National Library.

From there you will board a “Prague Venice” boat for a relaxing cruise along the river. Whilst listening to the commentary and taking in the magnificent views, you will be served with drinks and refreshments. After disembarking, you can step inside for a visit to the small but fascinating Charles Bridge Museum.

Your guide will then escort you across the Charles Bridge while detailing its history along the way. You will cross Kampa Island and enter the Lesser Town, passing the unique John Lennon Wall, and arriving at the Lesser Town Square, surrounded by magnificent Baroque and Renaissance architecture, where you will board a tram to Prague Castle.

Your guide will lead you through the complete Castle complex while recounting many highlights of the Castle’s history and architecture. The tour concludes in front of the St Wenceslas Vineyard at the scenic lookout point, which has majestic, sweeping views of the City below.

This is an outdoor walking tour, we enter the front hall of St Vitus Cathedral, but entry to the interiors for all other sites including Prague Castle is not included in this tour.
